Elaine Black YonedaRachel Schreiber, M.F.A., Ph.D., is a historian, artist, and designer, and the executive
dean of Parsons School of Design. Primary areas of research include U.S. gender
history, with a focus on labor activism, and print and visual culture. Her book, Elaine
Black Yoneda: Jewish Immigration, Labor Activism, and Japanese American Exclusion
and Incarceration, was published in 2021 by Temple University Press, and her article
“The Graphic Satire of Robert Minor and Art Young: text and image in political cartoons”
will appear in the Journal of Modern Periodical Studies in summer 2022.
