Namrata Chaturvedi teaches in the Department of English, Zakir Husain Delhi College, University of Delhi. Her work is in the area of women’s spiritual writings and comparative theology. Her forthcoming book is titled Daughters of Light: Journeys with India’s Women Mystics to be published by Rupa Publications (India) in 2025. The fieldwork conducted for this article has been supported through a project grant by the Indian Council of Social Science  Research, New Delhi.
