Dr. Suman Yadav holds a PhD in History from the University of Hyderabad, where her doctoral research focused on gender, print culture, and the intellectual history of colonial North India. Her scholarly interests lie in exploring women’s voices in vernacular print, the intersections of caste and gender, and the transformation of public discourse in early twentieth-century Hindi periodicals. She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), working on a project titled “Indentured Women Labourers as Cultural Ambassadors of Bharat: A Study of Women’s Writing in Hindi Periodicals.” Her postdoctoral research investigates the socio-economic and cultural trajectories of women who were transported as indentured labourers from India to the Caribbean colonies during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
